Welcome to my Hat Stand Tutorial
I hope you enjoy this tutorial, it is designed to be easy and simple, using items that you have on hand.  If there is something that you can't find, please feel free to email me so that I can help you out.

All of these above hat stands were made from commonly found components from your local building supply and craft stores.  The components have been mixed and matched like a puzzle.  Let your imagination be your guide.  On the next pages I have broken down the hat stand into its parts.  After gluing the parts together they have been decorated with paint, flowers, and ribbon.  This affords you the opportunity to have coordinated stands and hats.
Clothes Peg , this will need to be  cut off where you see the red dotted line.

                  Nibs
Final result,  You will end up with two sections,  also you will need to cut the nibs off of the ends. .
Clothes pegs, I found mine at the dollars store but you should be able to find them in most grocery or craft stores.
You will need a small sharp saw to cut them off.
I had this turning  in my box of wood bits.  I think that it came from a dollhouse store.  You could use any type of  stairway turnings.

I was able to use cutting pliers to remove the wood.  You may have sand a bit on the nib to reduce the diameter so that it fits into the head ball or bead that you are going to use.
Using sandpaper or a heavy duty emery board sand the top flat..
